Front page
The front page will be a page of a given administrational unit (country, region, town, etc.), where users see the list of initiatives that belong there. It will be possible to filter the initiatives by topic, by added date and by popularity.
On the page users can switch inbetween the various administrational units – anything inbetween a district of a city to globally important issues.
Initiative page
If a user clicks on an initiative, its page opens where the user will be able to
- read a short summary
- and the full text of the initiative
- read relevant news articles and blogposts and others' comments
- see the actual results of the votes
- comment
- and vote
Content generation
Content will be generated in a similar fashion to Wikipedia: by volunteers and admins. All changes will be able to be tracked and there will be a discussion and page history tab too.
Involvement of NGOs
NGOs will be able to have their own profile pages where they may submit their own initiatives (if they do not violate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights), reaching more people with their messages.
Importance of Social Media
CivilSummit will maximalise the potentials of social media: the activities of users (if they agree with it) will be visible to their followers
allowing the information to go viral.
Because only like this do we have the chance to achieve the critical amount of people for or against certain initiatives that would put enough pressure on politicians to react to the people's will, creating a more open dialoge between the representatives and those being represented.
